• NASA is set to launch a science cargo mission to the International Space Station (ISS) aboard a Northrop Grumman Cygnus spacecraft on February 21st. The mission, known as Cygnus NG-21, will deliver a variety of scientific experiments and research equipment to the orbiting laboratory. The cargo includes investigations focused on materials science, biology, and technology demonstrations.
• Among the notable experiments on board are studies on the effects of microgravity on plant growth, the behavior of granular materials, and the testing of new technologies for future space exploration. The mission will also transport supplies and equipment for the astronauts currently living and working on the ISS.
• The Cygnus spacecraft will launch atop a Northrop Grumman Antares rocket from the Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport at NASA's Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia. After a multi-day journey, the uncrewed Cygnus will autonomously rendezvous and dock with the ISS, where the crew will unload the cargo and begin conducting the various scientific investigations.
