• Paramount+ has canceled its plans for a live-action Dungeons & Dragons series. The series was originally announced in 2021 as part of a multi-year deal between Paramount and Hasbro, the company that owns the Dungeons & Dragons franchise. The cancellation comes as Paramount is making budget cuts and focusing on fewer, bigger projects.

• The Dungeons & Dragons series was intended to be a major part of Paramount+'s content lineup, with the streaming service hoping to capitalize on the recent surge in popularity of the tabletop roleplaying game. However, the project faced challenges, including the departure of its original showrunner, Derek Kolstad, in 2022.

• Despite the cancellation, Paramount and Hasbro are still moving forward with a Dungeons & Dragons feature film, which is currently in production and scheduled for release in 2023. The film will be directed by Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley and will star Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, Regé-Jean Page, and Hugh Grant.
