Marina no longer a contender for new Joby Aviation facility, publication reports - Santa Cruz Sentinel

MARINA – Joby Aviation has been mulling a decision of where to build its new manufacturing plant to ramp up production of its electric aircraft and according to a story in TechCrunch citing multiple sources speaking anonymously, Marina is no longer in contention for the coveted facility. The city of Marina has been working with Governor Newsom’s Office of Business and Ecoimic Development, the county of Monterey, local legislators, UC Santa Cruz, CSU Monterey Bay and other regional partners to put together tax incentive, grant proposals and other financial packages to assist Joby Aviation to be able to build its manufacturing facility at the Marina Municipal Airport.
