UNDP and Rare announce partnership to address plastic pollution

New York – This week, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Rare announced a global partnership to tackle plastic waste management and behavior change. Specifically, Rare’s team of behavioral scientists will:Develop a Plastics and Behavior Change Practical Guide and resources that apply behavioral sciences to the challenge of plastic waste;Increase national and local capacity to design and implement behavior change programs that positively impact plastic and waste management; andEstablish and support an engaged global network of practitioners who can leverage the power of behavior change to prevent and manage plastic waste sustainably. SGP has supported over 27,000 community-based projects on biodiversity conservation and sustainable use, climate change mitigation and adaptation, sustainable land management, conservation of international waters, and chemicals and waste management, while generating sustainable livelihoods
