Japan intends to lead a discussion on artificial intelligence and its risks at the Group of Seven ministerial meeting on digital issues the country will host at the end of the month, communications minister Takeaki Matsumoto said Friday. Meanwhile, Japanese officials said Thursday the education ministry is aiming to formulate guidelines regarding the use of ChatGPT and other AI chatbots in schools by next March as concerns grow over their impact on students' writing and thinking skills.
