Netgear has recently fixed a highly vulnerable bug affecting multiple wireless router models. Moreover, the company also suggested its users update their routers to the latest firmware version as soon as possible.Although the company did not reveal any kind of information about the part of the router that got affected by this flaw, it did say that it did quote that it was a pre-authentication buffer overflow susceptibility. The buffer overflow’s impact, if successful, can range from crashes from denial of service to the execution of arbitrary code.Attackers can easily exploit this bug in less complex attacks that don’t require permission from or interaction with a user."
