Ukraine’s Foreign Minister calls for exclusion of Russia from UN Security Council after missile attack on New Year's EveDmytro Kuleba, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, stated that Russia's missile attack on Ukrainian cities indicates the need to expel it from the UN Security Council.Vitalii Klitschko, Mayor of Kyiv, reported that a person was killed and 20 people were wounded as a result of the attack.Casualties were also reported in other cities of Ukraine.Previously: Ukraine called on UN member states on Monday, 26 December, to take official steps to prove that Russia's presence on the UN Security Council is "illegal" and deprive Russia of its status as a permanent member of the Security Council and exclude it from the UN as a whole.Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs reminded that the issue of Russia's membership in the United Nations, as well as its seat in the UN Security Council, was not properly regulated in accordance with international law."
