Russia plans new wave of mobilisation from 5 January – Chief of Ukraine's Defence IntelligenceThe Russian leadership decided to start a new wave of mobilisation from 5 January 2023, due to the lack of manpower.On top of that, according to the head of Ukrainian Defence Intelligence, the Russians have huge problems with equipping existing units and forming new ones: "They already lack manpower."- According to Russian leader Vladimir Putin, during the first wave of mobilisation, roughly 300,000 people joined the military; and in Ukraine, the number oh those mobilised allegedly made 150,000.However, the General Staff of Ukraine's Armed Forces insisted that the covert mobilisation was underway,in spite of official statements about its end.- Ukraine's Defence Intelligence reported that further mobilisation in Russia would look like it would have during the Second World War."
