Chairman of Munich Security Conference supports Ukraine's initiative on peace summitChristoph Heusgen (Photo:DLD Conference/www.flickr.com)Christoph Heusgen, Chairman of the Munich Security Conference, expressed his support for Ukraine's proposal to hold a peace summit by the end of February, German public broadcaster DW reported on Dec. 28.Heusgen illustrated his belief in the UN’s capabilities by mentioning the Black Sea grain initiative that was negotiated by UN Secretary-General António Guterres.It includes:- Restoring Ukraine’s territorial integrity- Withdrawal of Russian troops- Release of all prisoners and deportees- Punishment of every war criminal;On Oct. 4, Zelenskyy enacted a decision taken by the National Security and Defense Council to outlaw any negotiations with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.Zelenskyy said a dialogue with Russia is possible only after the withdrawal of Russian troops from all Ukrainian territory and admitting that the full-scale invasion was "a terrible mistake".He also said that the leader of the Kremlin alone can move the war on to peace talks by retreating to Ukraine’s 1991 internationally recognized borders."
