- The FTC is investigating whether Amazon intentionally made the Prime sign-up and cancellation process ambiguous.The company's cooperation shows it is taking the FTC's investigation seriously and aims to avoid evidence tampering by its employees.In August, Amazon asked the FTC to quash the subpoenas sent to executives including Jeff Bezos and Andy Jassy, saying they were only meant to "harass" them.In previous filings, the FTC broadly cited Insider's March story, which first reported the company's long awareness of the issue and internal deliberations to ignore it, in fear of slowing down the growth of Prime's expansion.Last week's email said Amazon employees must preserve all relevant files created since March 1, 2018, covering the following topics:- Subscription enrollment and cancellation, including the design and evaluation of the customer experience for enrolling and canceling memberships."
